Homes designed to take full advantage of the urban environment

This building is composed of four ” blocks ” surrounding a park visible from the streets by the vertical cuts between the blocks. It is organized on seven levels of residences and one level of shops on the first floor.

Five essential points have guided the design of the project:

Environmental quality, housing comfort, urban and architectural quality, treatment of outdoor spaces and, modernity of the architecture. In response to these five points, our research on the compactness and thickness of the buildings led us to propose three main typologies of apartment:

TYPOLOGY 1 – CURRENT FLOOR WITH HANGING GARDEN

The apartments, on the street from R+1 to R+5, are open to the outdoor space thanks to a tempered garden and a wooden terrace (like a Japanese garden) and closed by glass panels. This typology offers a system that is both climatically and acoustically efficient and generates a lively and animated street facade. Each individual is free to position the glass elements that make up this facade according to his or her choice and the desired use and comfort.

TYPOLOGY 2 – DUPLEX ON INTERIOR GARDEN

The duplexes are distributed on four floors around the interior park. The facades open onto the park thanks to loggias advancing towards the garden or to large bay windows aligned with the facade. These openings, glazed over the entire height of the duplexes, visually bring the landscape into the living room. The ensemble has a domestic scale evoking the image of a human community sharing common values.

TYPOLOGY 3 – ROOFTOP VILLA

The apartments on the top two levels have been treated as large single-story villas, on one level and extended by planted patios. Large transversal cuts isolate them from each other, giving them the status of individual houses. The roofs of the top floor villas are shaped to give the living rooms a greater height and to offer a view of the Vercors, Chartreuse and Belle Donne mountain ranges.
